Long week!

Whew! This feels like the most tiring week I have had in a while...but it's only been two days!!!!!!! L. Sch., C. H., and I have been interviewing to replace the TOI (Title One Instructor) on our team. I am SUPER excited to see how the new person fits into our team and interacts with the students. I will definitely be blogging about their reactions to meeting him.

This week has been a whirlwind. All of our extra time has been spent interviewing, which means that I have done a lot of work at this cluttered (Yes, my fault, mom!) table in the basement. Meetings, meetings, meetings! I really feel like I have been starting to get into a consistent groove. Planning has been easier now that I have carved out a designated time at the end of every weekend to plan the first few days and sketch out the rest.

PLUS, I just finished up some sub plans for Friday afternoon and it took me 20 minutes. At the beginning of the year it took me anywhere from 2-4 hours! However, actually leaving the room is still difficult. I feel like the nervous parent of a newborn who wants everything to be perfectly planned so nothing can go wrong. I usually shoot right back to the room at the end of the day to try to talk to the guest teacher and pick up any messes that may have happened.

I think I'm doing pretty well with my blog so far! Let's see how this continues! Later, Gators.

Whew! Things sure have been interesting lately! I have been a horrible blogger and I have been neglecting my many (4) loyal readers. I don't know if I can catch up on everything that has happened since my last post, but here goes...

Matt, my then boyfriend and now fiancee, surprised me by using my students to propose. He came to my school while I was in a meeting, arranged the kids and then had my principal come and get me with a story about someone freaking out. I walked into the room to find my students in a line holding signs that spelled out, "Jordan, will you marry me?" One of my students thought I died because I fell over. AMAZING!

The last few months have been a whirlwind of emotions and assessments. My students have been working very hard and it shows in their test scores. Almost all of my students have gone up in their mClass testing! Woo hoo!

Last week was very interesting as well. I have been working with some AWESOME teachers this year and last Wednesday I found out that one of my fellow second grade teachers got a job offer he couldn't turn down. The team was informed on Wednesday last week and his last day is Friday this week. There isn't a lot of time to adjust to this information. My Zumba has totally been off after learning this information! ;-) His students are going to find out on Thursday. I think we are all a little nervous to witness their reaction. However, I wish him good luck and now that he's working an 8 to 5-er I believe that lunch deliveries are in order!

Now...let's hope that I can keep up with this blog for the rest of the year! Wedding and classroom updates are to come!
